Beat the AI: official rules
Last updated 30 October 2026
Beat the AI is a monthly game of skill against the game's Hard AI. Taking part is free: there is nothing to buy, and buying anything would not help you win.
1. Organiser
Samer Moujaes, based in the United Arab Emirates, contact legal@operationsalvo.com. Beat the AI is not sponsored, endorsed or run by any other company or platform.
2. Who can take part
- Anyone with an Operation Salvo account can play and appear on the table: you must be 16 or older, with a verified email (and a verified phone when asked), and have accepted the Terms.
- To win a prize you must be 18 or older on the day the season ends. A younger player can finish first on the table, but the prize then goes to the highest-placed player who can win it.
- One account per person. The organiser and anyone who helps run the game (admins and moderators) can't win a prize.
- Sanctions: you can't win a prize if you live in a country or region under comprehensive sanctions by the United Nations, the United Arab Emirates, the European Union, the United Kingdom or the United States, or if you are named on any of their sanctions lists. We don't send prizes where that would break sanctions or export rules, and we may check a winner against these lists before handing a prize over.
- Beat the AI is void where the law doesn't allow it. You are responsible for checking that you may take part where you live. If we can't lawfully give or send a prize to where a winner lives, that winner can't win it.
3. Seasons
Each season is one calendar month, in UTC: it starts on the 1st at 00:00 UTC and ends when the month ends. Everyone starts each season at zero.
4. How to take part
- Open Beat the AI in the game and play a challenge match: you against the Hard AI, one on one, on a random medium map.
- Everyone plays the same settings: $5,000, 5 starting units, normal speed, no crates, no pausing.
- You can start up to 30 challenge matches in any 24 hours.
- The AI learns from every match, so it gets harder as the season goes on.
5. Points
- A win scores 1,000 points, plus 25 for every minute under 40. A loss scores nothing and costs nothing.
- Your season total is your best 10 wins added up.
- Ties: if two players have the same total, the one who reached it first is placed higher.
6. Checking results
- Our server plays every finished match again to confirm the result. A match only counts if it was played as it happened, at normal speed, with you online until it ended.
- We may remove results, and disqualify a player, for cheating, bots, scripts, modified games, bug exploits, more than one account, or breaking the Terms. The table is final once we have checked it after the season ends.
7. Winning
- The highest-placed player who can win (section 2) wins the season's prize.
- We contact the winner through the email on their account within 7 days after the season ends. To claim the prize, the winner gives us their real name, country and an email for delivery, within 14 days. If they don't, can't win it, or turn it down, the prize goes to the next player who can.
- We may ask for proof of age before handing over a prize.
8. The prize
- Every season has a prize for first place, worth up to US100. What it is is set for each season and shown, with its value, on the Beat the AI page in the game and on this website.
- Prizes are sent by email within 30 days after the winner is confirmed. A gift card follows its issuer's own terms. There is no cash alternative, and a prize can't be transferred.
- Any tax on a prize is the winner's to pay.
9. Publicity
Account names, points and wins are public on the table. We may name the winner by their account name, never by their real name without asking.
10. Changes
We may change these rules, or change, pause or cancel a season, if a fault, cheating or the law makes it necessary. Changes are shown here, with the date above. A change never takes away points already won fairly.
11. Liability and law
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for matches lost to connection problems, faults in the game or servers, or prizes lost in delivery through no fault of ours. These rules are governed by the law of the United Arab Emirates. Nothing here takes away rights you have by law where you live.
